INTRO
From wealth management to product management

As a VP of Product Management at JP Morgan in NYC, I bring 7 years of expertise in leading product development initiatives and guiding teams towards success. With a strong background in wealth management, consulting, and data analytics, I am dedicated to driving innovation and achieving strategic business objectives.

Education & application

From the summer before enrolling at Northeastern through graduation, I interned in data analytics, consulting, and wealth management positions. The application of my education helped me choose my dual degree in Finance and Economics, and it inspired me to write my economics capstone on the Determinants of Domestic Violence on Female Economic Independence. My last internship at BBH led to an early offer to join their NYC office post-graduation as a wealth management analyst.

Taking risks

While working as an analyst in wealth management, I was recognized as a young leader and tasked with spearheading digital transformation efforts within the trading team at BBH. Despite the absence of a structured scrum setup, I managed to balance trading activities from 9-4 while delving into discovery processes. Evenings were dedicated to crafting requirements for the team.

Realizing the importance of technical skills, I embarked on a journey to teach myself how to code utilizing platforms like Codecademy. Motivated to enhance my proficiency, I committed to furthering my education by enrolling in a bootcamp in Japan. This decision marked a significant risk in my career trajectory as I was on the Partner track, had no prior exposure to Asia, and was venturing into a massive pivot within my professional trajecture.

Accelerated learning

The experience gained from the bootcamp proved invaluable. Throughout the 9-week program I learned 7 coding languages and successfully built 3 websites from 0-1. I took extra classes to build fun products like digital art with AI and Super Mario Bros. The pinnacle was winning a Tokyo incubator pitch night with a fully operational travel app that I built with 2 other developers as part of the program. However, although I loved coding I noticed that during group dev work my peers would lean on me for product guidance. Product Management was still my passion. After some inspirational solo travel through Japan and its neighboring countries, I returned to NYC eager to get back to it.

I joined a digital agency where I wore multiple hats and learned the full end-to-end scrum skill set. This experience provided the opportunity to build both B2B and B2C products across various industries. Some noteworthy projects I spearheaded include building a database from scratch for an international packaging manufacturer with 1200+ products, a sales dashboard for Samsung Ads, 3 website rebrands for 3 large international corporations, and a B2B e-commerce platform.

High-impact global Products

I’ve spent the past 3.5 years learning how to navigate the corporate ladder while leveraging the skills I learned to date. At JP Morgan, I was promoted 3 times in <3 years (including an off-cycle VP promotion requiring C-level approval). I enabled JPMC’s acquisition of Silicon Valley Bank & First Republic (+$400bn in JPMC’s AUM) by simplifying a regulatory function that caused 43% of operational rejections. I’m currently decommissioning a legacy regulatory application critical to the business, through the use of micro-services. I built the first of these micro-services from 0-1 and through its redesign, with a projected 20% decrease in headcount in the Private Bank’s operations division. SKILLS
Global product strategy

I've launched three mission-critical global products from 0-1 and worked with stakeholders across 21 different countries. Understanding differences in business culture, regulatory requirements, and user behavior has been essential to develop products with high net promoter scores and unanimous buy-in from global c-suite groups.

UX architecture & design

Both front and back-end development contribute to exceptional user experiences. During ideation I work with research to understand users' UI pain points whilst also analyzing the data architecture to identify any structural causality.

Innovative problem solving

Building regulatory products at one of the largest banks in the world with an extensive presence in 60+ countries and targeted scrutiny from regulators is challenging. In addition to global regulations, each country houses local regulations that are constantly evolving. Establishing universal op models and building adaptable products with minimal customizations/tech rework has honed my imagination and creativity.

Diverse stakeholder management

In addition to innovative problem solving, building regulatory products demands understanding and translating the needs of a diverse range of stakeholder groups amongst one another. This ranges from the operating committee to legal counsel to wealth management bankers to back office operations. I.e. regulatory jargon and reasoning for the prescribed statutes must be translated into client-friendly language, and explicit feedback from internal users needs to be translated into the larger picture for the OpCo.

Metrics-driven decision making

Working with a diverse set of stakeholders has taught me the importance of falling back on numbers. Many stakeholder groups will often disagree with one another for various reasons. Metrics not only allow me to make the right decision, but they also help me to explain a decision to an opposing party in a way that allows me to maintain healthy partnerships.

Self-starter, lean & agile

I've been a "firefighter" for most of my career; I'm best known as someone to call whenever mission critical projects are time sensitive. Management knows that I will figure it out without guidance. I love learning, so I enjoy diving deep into any subject with a competitive drive to become a subject matter expert. I've been an obsessive list-maker my whole life, so its second nature for me to sequence competing priorities. And finally, I became a product manager because when the role was first developing it required wearing a lot of hats and I know how to make the most out of minimal resources.
