FIRST REPUBLIC ACQUISITION

The systems at JP Morgan were overwhelmed during the acquisition of First Republic, so the CEO assigned a group of us to identify and build a slew of tech updates. We released enhancements weekly. I identified a major time-save opportunity and retired a large segment of our monolithic vendor application by building a brand new internal app. After launching, I proposed a plan to retire the remainder of vendor, and received approval. Various stand-alone apps are now being built to then be API-integrated into existing processes.

The first step of dismantling the vendor’s application: an AI-enabled app that proactively assembles a prospect’s profile, and identifies their compatibility with the bank before onboarding as a client. Worked with compliance to streamline the amount of information captured. Leveraged AI to intelligently create a profile from internal & external sources.

PRODUCT CATALOG & PROPOSAL APP

ShyaHsin is one of the top four cosmetics and skincare packaging manufacturers in the world. After Blackstone acquired the company, our agency was assigned to find tech solutions to make the sales team more efficient. I identified a data issue and a collaboration blockage. I built a database and transferred it into a consumer application that allowed salespeople and clients to draft proposals, iterate on mockups, and explore past client wins. This enabled the company to execute RFPs faster, and to collaborate across various time zones and with different consumer market preferences.

Hero Cosmetics was known for one product, and sales for other products weren’t as high. I restructured all of the product pages to align products with their famous ‘pimple lifecycle’ to increase customer desire for different products. I also launched product bundling, and the loyalty & rewards program to encourage engagement.

I was assigned a blue sky UI/UX build for adding third parties to JP Morgan clients’ accounts. However, during discovery I identified a major data architectural issue and put a proposal together to adjust the scope of the project. It was identified as one of the ‘Big Rocks’ for the bank and I partnered with multiple divisions to restructure the architecture globally.

DEPT. OF LABOR MANDATE

The Department of Labor changed the documentation for all fiduciary banks when opening retirement accounts. It was a time-sensitive requirement that, if not fulfilled, would prevent JP Morgan from being able to open any more retirement accounts. It was going into the red and I was asked to step in. I turned the project green in 3 weeks and made our timeline.

JP Morgan investment management accounts were 3x more time-consuming to open than other accounts at the bank, so I restructured how the accounts were opened by adjusting the operating model. It required building a new page in an existing application.

Brown Brothers Harriman, the oldest private bank in the US, client accounts’ data architecture was set up differently than those of the major banks. The trading vendor, Charles River Development, was built to support the majority, creating a major setback for BBH when executing block trades. I worked with CRD’s developers to support the structure of our accounts, significantly increasing the number of trades that could be executed with one click.

Cockroach Labs hosts a series of events each year. During COVID the company needed to find a way to host these virtually, and I helped to create the webinars and events section of their website. I expanded past the virtually hosted events and helped them create a space where they could provide access to existing events and other educational resources. This expanded our contract into a multi-page website rebrand with the CMO.

Samsung Ads sales representatives were limited to reaching out to the data & marketing teams when preparing decks for client meetings. To provide autonomy, I created a flexible data measurements & insights dashboard that was client-ready. It auto-refreshes daily, highlights noteworthy insights, and distills data through various graphs and charts. The interface made it easy for sales reps to adjust the data across devices, platforms, engagements, audience demographics, and timeframes.

During my time at the Le Wagon coding bootcamp in Tokyo, our final project was to create a business plan, execute a fully functioning website, and pitch the business at Tokyo’s largest Incubator Hub. I built a travel website with a plug-in that allowed users to save browsed sites into a travel wishlist, organize the items into trips, automatically create itineraries, and view the mapped itinerary on an embedded Google Maps API. Website was sustained for one year.

Another project at Le Wagon was to replicate our favorite application. I replicated ClassPass; the website had two user interfaces; one for fitness instructors and one for students. It allowed instructors to create business profiles, class schedules, and class capacities. It allowed students to fuzzy-search for businesses and classes, view the location of the businesses through an embedded Google maps API, see if classes were at capacity, and sign up for classes. Website was sustained for one year.

Our first project at Le Wagon was to create a fully functioning CRUD website. I created a cocktail website that allowed you to create, save, delete and update cocktails with text and pictures. It also saved the name of each contributor.
